BBC orders Season 2 of 'Tracey Ullman's Show' - UPI.com - according to Upi
"Tracey's triumphant return to British television was a big hit with the audience. She's such an exceptional talent at the top of her game. The new series will have plenty more surprises and finger on the pulse characters and impressions that hold a fairground mirror up to modern British society, politics and celebrity," added Shane Allen, controller of BBC Comedy Commissioning.
Will Tracey Ullman ('Tracey Ullman's Show') stop Julia Louis-Dreyfus from winning 6th Emmy for 'Veep'? - Goldderby - according to Goldderby
Emmy queen Louis-Dreyfus is facing possible fatigue after her five victories. Helping Ullman’s chances at victory is a rule change last year from a ranked vote to a straight plurality vote. Another rule change from two years ago allows anyone to vote who participated in the nomination round. Ullman is not only a favorite of the TV academy but also of her fellow actors as she previously won a SAG Award for Best Comedy Actress (“Tracey Takes On,” 1999).
Will 'Tracey Ullman's Show' Return For Season 4? TV Wouldn't Be The Same Without Its Titular Star - Bustle - via Bustle
Nonetheless, it's a great extension of SNL's timely comedy while still being original. The series, which premiered in 2016, has seen Ullman embody relevant public figures like Melania Trump, Angela Merkel, and Judi Dench. And it's scary how accurate (and funny) her impressions are, personality-wise and physically. "I have a face for change!" she told TVInsider. "Prosthetic artists say it’s my low forehead. That my nose is predominant, but my jaw isn’t. My eyes are small and inset. And I have a big head, so it’s good for wigs. On small heads, wigs look silly."
TV picks for Oct. 20-22: 'Walking Dead,' 'She Loves Me,' 'Tracey Ullman's Show,' George Michael - Minneapolis Star Tribune - via Startribune
Viewers need only the tiniest bit of familiarity with Angela Merkel and Judi Dench to appreciate how splendidly they’re sent up in “Tracey Ullman’s Show,” which returns for a second season of fast-paced, positively silly sketch comedy. Ullman continues to be a force of nature, committing herself fully to each uniquely shaped character. Now if only the series would scrap its wholly unnecessary laugh track.
