News & Interviews

How Sharp Objects' Music Supervisor Created Its Soundtrack - via Vulture

I think Led Zeppelin was interested in being in the show because of the artistry. It was a good marriage between artists and artists, Jean-Marc and them. I also think they’re turning a soil. They know a lot of kids don’t know who they are. A lot of kids don’t know who Led Zeppelin is! I can look right at many twentysomethings and play them a really famous Led Zeppelin song, and ask them who they are, and they won’t know. So they’re also smart in keeping themselves in the zeitgeist. The way Jean-Marc uses music, you want to know what that music is. People are Shazam-ing the hell out of his shows. Hopefully, people will take a deeper dive after this.

Also hard? The application and removal of the makeup. To preserve the look of the makeup, Adams had to spend hours filming a bathing scene in cold water, as the steam would impact the scars. The application and removal, meanwhile, was time-consuming, in addition to being an irritant to the skin.

HBO's 'Sharp Objects' will end when the book does - by Columbian

Sometimes there’s the promise of more literary material to draw upon, but the book takes longer than the show. HBO’s “Game of Thrones” moved beyond George R.R. Martin’s “Song of Fire and Ice” books during its sixth season, as the author was still busy writing the next book, “The Winds of Winter.”

'Sharp Objects' Review: Amy Adams Soars to New Heights in Episode 3, As Camille Stares Down an Angel of Death - according to Indiewire

In other words, she’s in total control as Camille is spinning out. Most of “Fix” illustrates why the character is disturbed by and drawn to Wind Gap at this moment. She’s trying to understand death, as it relates to her life. Is she to blame for her sister’s death? Is she to blame for her roommate’s? Is she to blame, if not for the girls’ deaths in 2018, then their family’s ongoing hardships? She’s not the killer, but is she a killer?
