Critics Reviews

We’re reminded why we love and want to protect each and every one of these characters while also learning new things about them. We see character matchups that haven’t been seen since the early days of the show. We return to plotlines that were long thought abandoned. The character development people have been hoping for with certain Paladins finally comes into focus. Romelle also gets some time to shine as the newest member of the main cast. Her dynamic with everyone is a ton of fun and she steals every scene she's featured <...> - by Den of Geek [Shamus Kelley]

Additionally, strengthening the home front allow characters like Sam and the recently introduced, Veronica (Lance's sister) to play larger roles. They along with the MFE pilots grow the cast in interesting ways, adding more heroes to root for and giving Team Voltron even more support once they eventually arrive on Earth. But then something strange happens - another giant robot arrives and attacks! Voltron engages with this rogue enemy, but it soon becomes clear this new foe is the stronger opponent. Then something even stranger <...> - by ScreenRant [Sarah Moran]

This conflict of liberating their vastly underprepared home from the might of a Galra fleet makes for an arc that is perhaps Voltron’s biggest so far. Even though the scope is winnowed down to the fate of a single planet instead of the entire universe as it had been in their scrap with Lotor, the fact that this is Earth, and we get to follow the fight for it all the way through—from the haunting initial invasion to the team’s arrival, to the eventual victory that liberates the world—adds a personal stake for the Paladins <...> - by io9.com [James Whitbrook]
