In previous years, every April, the tent is erected for ten weeks, and each episode is filmed over the course of a weekend. The bakers stay at nearby hotels, arriving at 9am on Saturday mornings and returning home during the week.

Then, for the The Great New Year's Bake Off, 2014's Kate Henry and Dr Tamal Ray from 2015 will return to the tent, alongside 2016 champion Candice Brown and 2017 finalist Steven Carter-Bailey.

Previously on The Great British Bake Off: It is the final, and with just three of the original twelve bakers remaining. The theme for the final is a Royal Bake Off, as the tent plays host to three challenges to impress the Queen last signature challenge sees a return to meringues, a challenge that a few of the bakers stumbled over in week six the technical challenge, Mary has made a simple bake very, very tough, as she has only given the bakers one recipe instruction. The rest is down to them. It may be a very British classic, but with no measurements, this is the ultimate test of the final three bakers' intuition on the final day, as the bakers' families gather outside the tent, the finalists face their last showstopper. This is the most complex one ever seen on Bake Off, and there are the most bakes ever requested in a challenge. With only one oven, it's five solid hours of baking for the finalists to prove they deserve the winner's trophy will be named the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2016?

Didn’t get to see who won this last time. There were 5 people left. Love the show can’t believe we have to wait til august to find out who won . By the way we like the new Thursday night show but we like the british people better .love yall

I am American and am obsessed with the bake off. I watch on pbs and any youtube videos I can find. Disappointing that Mary, Sue and Mel won’t be on new season but will still watch
