Fosse/Verdon episode 5 recap: The key to unlocking this FX miniseries - - via Vox

The question of the show, then, isn’t whether we absolve Bob Fosse. It’s whether Gwen Verdon, or Ann Reinking, or Paddy Chayefsky, can absolve him. The historical record says they all did, for as much as they could hate him. And in “Where Am I Going?”, we get a best guess as to what drew people to this man beyond his obvious talent as a director and choreographer. On some level, he was a people-pleaser.

I know I’m a terrible millennial for never seeing any of the original Twilight Zone, but now a whole new generation will get to enjoy the mystery series famously created by Rod Serling. Arguably no one in the 21st century has blended the genres of horror, mystery and thriller more expertly than Jordan Peele. His 2017 masterpiece Get Out was a box office and critical success and his new film, Us, recently hit theaters. Peele will be the new host of a reimagined Twilight Zone, with each episode sometimes telling multiple stories with great, horrifying twists. Actors including Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation), John Cho (Searching) and Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2) will star. Basically, Jordan Peele is an auteur, and I am always willing to check out his latest work.

Spanning five decades, Fosse/Verdon explores the singular romantic and creative partnership between Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon. He is a visionary filmmaker and one of the theater's most influential choreographers and directors. She is the greatest Broadway dancer of all time. Only Bob can create the groundbreaking musicals that allow Gwen to showcase her greatness. Only Gwen can realize the unique vision in Bob's head. Together, they will change the face of American entertainment - at a perilous cost.
