In All American, the CW looks to break from their superhero dominance and expand to a larger demographic. All American revolves around a high school football student whose transfer from South Central collides with the world of Beverly Hills. Where many of the shows running on the CW have found their inspiration in fantasy and comics, All American finds its inspiration from the life of professional football player Spencer Paysinger.

Stephen Amell wants Season 7 of Arrow written as if it's the show's last - via Syfy

Amell continued by saying that, of what he’s heard from the writers’ room thus far, they seem to be taking his suggestion to heart. “I think that’s one of the things I’m getting out of what they’ve planned for Season 7 -- we’re not writing like we’re guaranteed something beyond this, because we’re not; nobody is,” Amell said. “I want them to really push forward and take the fact we have a certain license and a certain respect from the fans to take some chances.”

Is 'Arrow' Ending? Stephen Amell Asks Writers To Assume It's Final Season - via Ibtimes

Still, it doesn’t sound like any decisions have been made. The ratings could be enough and Amell’s contract could easily be extended. The actor’s request for “Arrow” Season 7 to be written like it’s the last is likely just to make sure that the writers aren’t holding back any epic stories that they’ve always wanted to do.

Fan Buzz

I also am becoming very disappointed in the direction these episodes are going. Laurel is going to learn how to fight and be a superhero, too Anyways, this is a keeper ladies and gentlemen, this is now a really cool show. Pay your dues to get in the door to start make a living at it. I know it's not easy to be a writer and write stories like this, but this show might be better if they just follow the comics man....

Critics Reviews

It’s difficult to say whether Arrow had any one specific arc its five-year span needed to resolve, even if Slade placed Oliver’s anguish under the lens of his father’s suicide. It’s certainly no accident that Chase’s death would reflect Robert’s, to say nothing of the hall of mirrors that is Oliver and his <...> - by ScreenCrush [Kevin Fitzpatrick]

The fun thing about Prometheus, besides that bonkers-as-hell fun-house score that blared over his introduction, is that while there is a comic-book character of the same name, Arrow‘s producers have promised we’re getting a completely new villain. It’s worth noting that he initially seems to be a patch-work <...> - by New York Observer [Vinnie Mancuso]

Ragman faces a similar issue; he can do just about anything, and yet remains a junior member of Green Arrow's team. Admittedly, Rory Regan is depicted as a newcomer who hasn't learned everything about his powers yet, but he's also a guy who can do almost anything; not once but twice his suit is able to deflect and even <...> - by PopMatters [J.C. Maçek III]

While the new team of heroes don’t always work in season five, Prometheus may be the best villain Arrow has ever had over a season. That includes Deathstroke, who may or may not return for a cameo in this season. Prometheus is great as a villain because he knows Oliver inside and out, having spent years preparing <...> - by DoBlu Season 5 Blu-ray [Matt Paprocki]
