The writing is very mediocre and the acting and character development is below average. Please put the show back on i miss it so bad it was a clean show that i would allow my kids to watch and not have to worry about it it is somthing we watched as a family good quality time we spent as a family please put it back on at a decent time so we can start watching it again it is a good show and for you to stop making it upset me it was top notch in my book i loved it and learned alot from it so if you would please put it back on in the evening i would love it thank you so much it is as good as house csi ncis and othershows along that line please put it back onplease pu Numb3rs, well the show it self is pretty nice. Numb3rs is probably the only show I watched from the beginning. Why did you have to go and move all of the shows around, now the ones that were left have been moved to new days and times.

Loved the show. But I can’t image a season 6. All the loose ends were tied up nicely.

Season 5 was great, but I would love to see Anna find a true love and more on Sarah and George future together.
I missed the one earlier episode where Sarah was telling the story of the family to a daughter or granddaughter of Olivia’s. Anyone know which season/episode I’m referring too?

I think it was the end of season 2 when they thought that was the final season for the show.

From the USA. You must create a season 6. I am telling all my friends to catch up on the past seasons on acorn tv. They love it and want more.

Loving the show and happy to see another season in the works! All the characters were great and nicely developed. The only character I really didn’t like was Gino. I thought Regina was brilliantly played. Sarah was somewhat uneven at times. I’m hoping that in season 6 Anna becomes miraculously pregnant from her one night stand with Henry, whatever may come of their ongoing relationship. The trials and tribulations, self inflicted in many cases, were maddening at times. I hope further intrigue becomes more functional and less dysfunctional – all part of human life – but too much in one family!

What a brilliant critique you presented, stated with precision. I, too, found Gino the least favorite. Agree that Regina was wonderful!! And YES, I too, am hoping that Anna finds herself ‘miraculously’ pregnant in Season 6. I’ve enjoyed this series very much! Not sure if I can get Season 6. Live in USA.

Love this show, will it be on Public Broadcasting here in the USA? Waiting to find it on PBS. Did not see it in the PBS guide for today. Still showing repeats of Poldark….which is also a great show, but waiting for the new season of Poldark, too.

To everyone in the world who loves British and Australian productions: There is a way to watch wonderful shows like “A Place To Call Home” without seeing it on PBS or any other “live” broadcasting station. However, it will cost some money to do so. It is worth the expense to me, and I hope it might be to some of you, too.

Here’s what to do:

1. Activate internet service in your home – WiFi.

2. Purchase a streaming device called a Roku along with an HDMI cable, if one is needed for the Roku you choose. In the U.S., Roku devices are in Wal-Mart and Best Buy. Anyone can order directly from roku.com. Devices are available at different price points with different features. Check out roku.com to see what is available and what will work best with your TV.

3. Subscribe to Acorn TV – a streaming service. Acorn TV is about US$50 per year.

Trust me, I am not technically gifted and even I can install a Roku! There are so many free streaming channels (along with plenty to pay for!) available through Roku devices.

Does it sound a little crazy to pay US$50 for extra TV? How much does it cost to go to the movies these days? I bet you couldn’t go very many times on 50 bucks. With Acorn TV there is always something wonderful waiting for you to watch. Want to watch a whole series, all seasons, every single episode without waiting a week to see what happens next? It’s all waiting for you with Acorn TV and your Roku!

TV is my only source of entertainment and I absolutely adore my Roku and Acorn TV. I’ve had both for several years. Cable is disconnected in my home because it isn’t worth the expense to pay for crummy TV. I have complete control over what I watch and when I watch with my Roku. It is heaven!

I truly hope this helps someone. And no, I do not have an association with Roku, Acorn TV, Wal-Mart, or Best Buy! When something is useful, it is important to share the information about it.

P.S.: “A Place To Call Home” Season 6 – the final season – began airing in Australia on August 19. Acorn TV sends out weekly emails with a newsletter of “What To Watch This Week.” The most recent one said Acorn TV will have a special premiere of “A Place To Call Home” on August 31. How absolutely wonderful!
